Valentina Beatini
Architectural Engineering · Geometry-Driven Structures · Computational Methods
Licensed architect and researcher in computational and structural design, working at the intersection of computation, geometry-informed structural
systems, and reversible construction. I develop analytical and design methods that connect architectural intent with
structural reasoning, prototyping, and performance modelling.
Selected highlights
-
MarmoMac Exhibition (2025), Verona, IT — with Prof. Arch. A. Pizzigoni.
Branching Knot: novel, self-balancing masonry system.
-
International Research Pavilion Competition (2021) — II Placement.
With MS student L.H. Heinzl and Prof. Eng. P.H. Kirkegaard.
-
Kayseri Design Week (2017) — Foldable Pavilions (students pavilion),
supported by the Chamber of Architects (Kayseri, TR). Lead; collaborative work with SMiA research group (UPC).
-
Open-source tool (2018) — Code repository for a custom NSCD masonry simulator,
developed with Prof. Eng. Alessandro Tasora:
(Link).
Scientific service
Regular peer reviewer for international journals in computational and structural research in architecture and engineering
(selected: Engineering Structures, Royal Society Proceedings A, Scientific Reports,
The Journal of Architecture). I also contribute to scientific committees (including ICSA 2025, Antwerp,
and ATI International Symposium series, Izmir).
